Jamestown Couple's Unusual Car Saves Money
JAMESTOWN (CBS13) ―
Even with gas prices dropping, some drivers are going the extra mile to save even more cash. One Jamestown couple says they got their car for a steal and gets up to 35 miles a gallon.
It's like a tricycle on steroids.
"It's got a four cylinder motor in it," said Dave Spraggins.
It's called a Go-4, the same kind of thing you might see a meter maid in. But, not the car you'd see some guy driving in downtown Jamestown.
Dave and his wife Wanda wonder when the questions will stop.
"'What is that'?" said Wanda. "And, ''why are you on the road?'"
"'Is it legal'?" said Dave. "How fast will it go?'"
Yes, it's freeway legal and goes up to 70 miles an hour.
It's not the quietest or smoothest ride, but Dave says it beats the bumpy road of gas prices.
"I get 35-40 miles a gallon in it." said Dave.
Even after a rough start and a tough sell, the Go-4 has won over Wanda.
"I mean it brings parallel parking to a masterful level," said Wanda.
They even have a his and hers pair. The cars go for $2,800 each and the Spraggins' 0gas savings keep climbing.
"In this day and age I'll take what I can get," said Wanda.
