Drunk Driving Prosecutor Arrested On DUI Charge

SHASTA COUNTY (AP) ― A Shasta County deputy district attorney who specializes in prosecuting drunken driving cases now faces DUI charges herself.

A California Highway Patrol pulled over Patricia Jean Haley, 28, early Saturday for a routine traffic violation and gave her a breath test that showed a blood alcohol level of 0.10. The legal limit for driving in California is 0.08.

Haley was booked into Shasta County Jail on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence and released.

Assistant District Attorney Daniel Flynn says he's overseeing an investigation into possible disciplinary action against Haley.

Haley did not respond to an e-mail request for an interview.
