The Scoop: Vegas Arena

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ― Good news from our friends down in Las Vegas. They're planning to spend $6 billion on a new 61 acre development next to downtown Vegas. The proposal has just about everything - except a basketball area.

That's right, there's no need to worry about the Kings moving from Sacramento to Southern Nevada. The Las Vegas planners talked about including an arena in their mix, but decided against it. Who needs basketball?

The new Vegas will have a theater, hotel, casino (naturally), condos, a jewelry center, even hospital for Alzheimer's research. But no arena. So the options for the Kings are getting smaller by the hour. The Kings have nowhere to go, so they might as well finance their own arena in Sacramento.
