The Scoop: Oklahoma City Comparison

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ― Sacramento has blown it again. The River City has been out-maneuvered by a brand new River City, and you're going to choke on your cheeseburger when you hear which town I'm talking about.

Our latest rival is Oklahoma City. Not exactly the first place that pops into mind when you think about beautiful vistas and meandering rivers. But the people who run Oklahoma City have imagination. And in the last decade, they have rebuilt their river - the Oklahoma - from scratch.

Ten years ago, the Oklahoma River was a dry creek. This month, it hosted the Olympic canoe and kayak championships. Companies like Dell are building on the shoreline. It's a beautiful destination. What has the city of Sacramento done with its river in the last 10 years? Well, there's these park benches.
