The Scoop: City Manager Residency

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ― Here's a Scoop salute to Sacramento City Manager Ray Kerridge. A while back, I gave the City Manager a hard time because he hadn't gotten around to buying a home in the city he runs. I thought it showed a certain lack of faith.

Well, today I can report the city manager is a full-fledged city home owner. He's closed escrow on a place in midtown. I don't want to give out too many details, but he got a good deal and he's living the urban storybook life.

To have a successful city, you have to have people who believe in the city. And how can you expect anyone to believe in the city if the people in charge don't even want to live there? Congratulations on your new home, City Manager Ray Kerridge. This is what I'm talking about: Leadership by example.
