The Scoop: Ugly Building

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ― There's a new landmark right off Highway 50 between Rancho Cordova and Folsom - but as landmarks go, this isn't exactly up there with the Golden Gate Bridge. It's a big warehouse for boat storage, and it's a gigantic eyesore.

You might think there are rules against building something this ugly alongside a suburban freeway, where thousands of motorists have to look at it everyday. There are rules in most cities, but they don't apply in this case

Why not? Well, this ugly building is not in a city. It's in the county of Sacramento. And in the county, you can build pretty much whatever you want, wherever you want, as long as you don't rile up the board of supervisors. In the city, a garden shed isn't supposed to be visible from the street. In Sacramento County, size doesn't matter.
