The Scoop: Kevin Johnson King

  Kevin Johnson has already run into one brick wall in his quest to be King of Sacramento -- his colleagues on the city council aren't ready to back his idea of changing the city charter to make Johnson a strong mayor.

What are the biggest complaints among council members? It's too soon, Johnson is too new on the job and the special election would cost too much, over $1 million. This in a city that's already going broke.

The King Kevin proposal proves one thing -- Johnson has already admitted he can't build consensus among the city council. Oh, and if you want to see a bigger version of Kevin's proposal, just visit the State Capitol. They have his plan in operation there, and you can see how well it works.
