The election of Mayor Kevin Johnson means Sacramento men are going to have to get accustomed to a new form of greeting – the Johnson Man Hug. Johnson has been practicing the move for years, but its tricky for amateurs. I'm here to help.
The Man Hug shows up wherever Johnson goes. When he toured a new high-rise this week, everybody in sight got a man hug. Even the security guard who toured City Hall with Johnson a few weeks ago said Johnson "kind of hugged me."
So what is the Johnson Man Hug? It's a shoulder bump and one-handed pat on the back, with the face turned away. Let me demonstrate with some people outside City Hall. Got it?
