COMMENTARY (CBS13) ― Gov. Schwarzenegger has resorted to an old trick in his quest to get a balanced budget for the state – humiliation. His target is the state legislature. The problem is, he tried humiliation before, and failed miserably.

You probably saw where the governor installed a big sign outside his office blaming the legislature for its failure to fix the budget. He also put up a ticker showing how many billions of dollars the state is fall into the hole.

This is great theatrical stuff for guys like me in the media. What reporter can resist a big fight? But it won't work. Every time this governor has tried to embarrass the legislature, he was the one who landed flat on his face. Listen, legislators are insecure, and they need a soft, loving touch, not a big stick from the Austrian Oak.
