The Scoop: Governor's Days Off

SACRAMENTO (EDITORIAL/CBS13) ― How much time do you think Governor Schwarzenegger spends at the capitol? We found out the numbers, which might be surprising.

Would you like a job where you spend less than one full day per month at the office? Where you take every third day off? If the answers are yes, you'll certainly appreciate the schedule of California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. The Governor was a ghost in Sacramento last year -- with plenty of free time for himself.

From January to November last year, the governor spent just seven full days in Sacramento. That's right, seven days in 10 months. He dropped by Sacramento for an hour or two on 103 days. But full days? You can count them on two hands.

CBS13 asked for and received a copy of the governor's 2007 official calendar. The calendar shows he's a globetrotter, but you already knew that. But did you know he took about every third day off? I'll have more on the Governor's official calendar tomorrow on the Scoop.

The Governor says he buys carbon offsets for all that travel. But what about his days off?  How many would do you think Governor Schwarzenegger gets?  That's tomorrow in the Scoop.
