Teammates and loved ones of Mario Danelo are mourning the death of the USC kicker, whose body was found Saturday afternoon at the bottom of a rocky cliff in San Pedro.
Fellow player David Buehler tells KTTV TV news that Danelo was "a brother" to him. He says the kicker was "somebody you looked up to and somebody you wanted to model yourself after."
Danelo's brother Joey tells the Associated Press that Mario was "a good kid."
Joey Danelo says he doesn't know anyone who didn't like his brother.
Mario Danelo's body was found just five days after the USC junior made two field goals in the Rose Bowl to help the Trojans beat Michigan 32-18.
Police announced yesterday that foul play probably was not a factor in Danelo's death.
Coroner's officials say an autopsy could be performed as early as today.
