Blind Woman Throws Out First Pitch At Giants Game

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS) ― We've all seen first pitches. But now close your eyes and imagine doing it without seeing a thing. That's what one woman did Thursday night at a San Francisco Giants home game against the Angels.

Karen Parsegian lost her eyesight four years ago.

So when she got the invitation to throw out the first pitch, she says, "I was like, am I out of my mind, I haven't played softball in 14 years."

But she says she's doing it all for her nieces.

"I want to be able to show them that life is going to throw you curveballs. You can either curl up on the nice leather couch and just tell the rest of the world to go away, or you can call the Giants and ask if you can throw out the first pitch," Parsegian says.
