Northern California Wildfires Rage

Hot, dry winds kicked up wildfires across Northern California in recent weeks and, most notably, lightning ignited more than 500 blazes across the region on the weekend of June 21-22, 2008.

The largest of more than 500 lightning-ignited blazes began in Napa County June 21, 2008, and quickly spread to the mostly rural area of Solano County.
