Joseph Ferguson
Ferguson, a suspended Burns security guard, was accused of killing five people and wounding two others during a killing spree in Sept. of 2001. He was accused of killing three co-workers and a city employee on a Saturday night. The next day, he held a Burns supervisor and his wife hostage, making a videotaped message while there. He later killed the supervisor and took the wife hostage in their car. She later escaped. Ferguson then shot and wounded a CHP officer and a passing motorist, fired shots at a police helicopter and got into a gunfight with several officers during a high-speed chase. He crashed into a pole and was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound and later died.
