The Scoop: Broken Promises

SACRAMENTO ((COMMENTARY)) ― Fargo Letter- Broken Promise.

I have a letter here signed by Sacramento Mayor Heather Fargo back in March. It's a promise to run a clean campaign. And right now, this letter is a big problem for Fargo. She's broken her promise. It's right here in black and white.

For the past couple of weeks, the local plumbers union has been sending out smear mail against Fargo's opponent, Kevin Johnson. The other night at City Council, a citizen called on Fargo to denounce the smear. Fargo refused. She played dumb and said she had nothing to do with it.

But back in March, Fargo promised in writing to repudiate any smear – and not take their money. I've been telling you for months that Mayor Fargo would say and do anything to keep her job. And it looks like I was right. This broken promise is the proof.
