The Scoop: Cops Letter

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ― You don't usually see cops asking for help when they're under attack, but that's the case here today. Sacramento cops have asked the City Council to give them a hand – against Mayor Heather Fargo and her cronies, who are trying to embarrass the city's police department.

Here's a copy of a letter sent to the City Council by the cops' union. The cops are upset because the mayor and her stooges have been pressuring the chief of police to release an investigation report involving the mayor's political challenger, Kevin Johnson. The chief has refused, but he's still feeling political heat.

The cops are angry because the mayor has put the police department in the middle of her own election battle to save her job. The cops want every City Council member to tell the mayor to knock it off and let the cops do their jobs. Is that too much to ask?
