The Scoop: Parra For Governor

COMMENTARY (CBS13) ― Just when you think it's impossible for any member of the California State Senate Assembly to claim any heroics during the budget deadlock, along comes Assemblywoman Nicole Parra. She did it by getting tossed out of her office.

Nicole has become a martyr in state government, sort of a Joan of Arc. She was evicted by the Assembly leadership after she refused to vote on a budget that wasn't going to pass anyway. She refused because she felt her colleagues were blowing off a water bond, a big deal in her district around Bakersfield.

When Nicole abstained, all of her bills were dumped and she was moved to an office across the street from the Capitol. But now pundits are citing Nicole in commercials, talking about her fortitude and inspiration. She's the poster girl for integrity -- heck, she should be on a calendar.

Let me be the first to ask the question: Nicole Parra for Governor in 2010?
