Save With Dave: Cheap Creative Fun With Family

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ― Looking for a cool and creative way to entertain the whole family? In tonight's Save with Dave, CBS13 viewers save even more money.

Looking for a great family activity where you can stay cool and express your artistic nature?

Try Petroglyph in Roseville or Color Me Mine in Elk Grove, where you can design your own ceramic pieces.

Petroglyph has a sitting fee of &9.75 for adults and $7.00 for kids.

"It's an all day fee. You can stay as long as you like, bring food, drink, make a day out of it," says one employee.

Your only other expense is the cost of the items you paint, they range anywhere from a few dollars to around $40.00.

Rowena Rose brings her grandchildren every summer.

"Oh, it's wonderful. We're in a cool place; we get to have art to take home, souvenirs to take home to mom and dad. Its just time together we're talking and having fun," says Rowena.

Tuesdays are half off the studio fee, and you can get a season pass; unlimited visits through October for only $45.00.

At Color Me Mine sitting fees are similar. Owner-Manager Ruth Bettis tells us she has a different discount for everyday of the week.

"We have a family day on Sunday, its 50% off the studio fee for the whole family. We offer some $2.00 studio fee paint nights," says Ruth.

How much you save depends on where you go.

Between half-price night, or if you go for that season pass, you can save anywhere from $16 to $33, sometimes more.

And Petroglyph has offered Save with Dave an additional $15.00 off a season pass.
