Save With Dave: Save $75 On Filing Your Taxes
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ―
The IRS is launching their new "free file" program again this year, and it's not just free, it's faster too.
Every year they return like the swallows of Capistrano; the taxpayers trying to beat the midnight tax deadline.
But with tax forms in hand already, you can file electronically, avoiding these lines, all for free.
If you make $57,000 or less, you can even use tax software that helps you fill out your tax forms for free.
You answer the questions, fill out the information, and file electronically.
And if you choose direct deposit, you can even get your refund in about ten days.
If you make more money than $57,000, you can still use free file. You just get the tax forms to fill out and can still submit by e-file and get your refund.
You get your taxes filed for free and still avoid the taxpayer migration to the post office on the 15th.
If you qualify, or can handle filling out the forms yourself, you can easily save up to $75 you'd spend on tax software.
