Save With Dave: Save Big On Prescription Meds
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ―
Paying for must-have prescriptions can be a hard pill to swallow, but here are some ways to kick the cold and other illnesses without overpaying.
Stores like Walmart and Target have great deals on most popular generic medicines.
They have programs that offer these generics at $4 for a week-long prescription, and $10 for a month's worth.
Several of these deals even apply to meds that can cost up to a couple hundred dollars per pill. So you're looking at big savings.
This offer applies to hundreds of different types of medicines.
For meds that aren't generic or not on these lists, look to websites like Progressive.com are another smart place to look for deals. These websites buy in bulk from big pharmaceutical suppliers and can offer discounts as high as 75 percent off.
If you happened to be looking on "Progressive RX" and needed Lipitor for example, you could look at their price comparison chart to see their deal.
The site offers 90 pills fro $88.20, while Costco has 100 pills for $379.54. You are looking at saving more than $291. It pays to compare.
