Save With Dave: Save Big With 'Money Mailers'
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ―
Ever get one of these in your mailbox? It's not junk mail. Next time you get a money mailer, take a glance through it, and you might be surprised at the savings you'll find.
It says it right on the package, it's "like getting money in your mailbox."
Inside the red, white and blue envelope of the "money mailer" are literally thousands of dollars in coupons.
Local money mailer franchise owner, Chuck Gourley, says he packs his mailer with discounts to family friendly businesses that people use everyday.
"Our number one category is restaurants and then its services like nail salons, dry cleaners, estheticians, that kind of thing. And then it's some home improvement," says Gourley.
You can find deals like buy one dinner; get one free, $8 off an oil change, or even thousands of dollars in savings on new windows.
"Very little national ads so it's not a lot of the junk that you think of in direct mailers. It's a lot of locally owned and operated businesses. It's a great way to keep the money in your own community," explains Gourley.
If you don't get the money mailer, all you have to do is go online to moneymailer.com, and you can print out any of the coupons.
Money Mailer is nationwide, so if you're on vacation you can just search the city you're visiting to find local deals.
One of the best restaurant deals we found, locally, was $17 off dinner for two at a pretty high-end restaurant in Fair Oaks.
