Save With Dave: Lower Green Fees
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ―
You can save more greenbacks on those green fees.
Aaahhh. The sound of that driver and the smell of freshly cut grass: Golf may be aggravating, but it's sure addicting.
"It's kind of like a drug, people that like to ski or golf really want to do it so they're going to seek out the best ways to save money," said Jim McAlpine, Snowbomb.com. "Most people know snowbomb.com for wintertime discounts."
But did you know that Snowbomb also offers discounts on summer activities, like golf? Its golf value book is now selling for half price at $16.50.
"You get 2 for 1 rounds of golf at over 350 golf courses and really, if you use it one time, you can actually quadruple your money back right away," said Jim.
For example, at Ancil Hoffman Golf Course in Carmichael green fees during the week cost $28.
With the coupon book, your buddy can play for free.
"You can use the discounts multiple times so here at Ancil Hoffman, you can use that discount four different times," said Jim.
The book covers about 50 courses between Sacramento and Tahoe, all of Nevada, Oregon, Utah, even Hawaii.
"There are about 20 different great courses in Hawaii on all the different seven islands, so it's a pretty sweet deal," said Jim.
There are some restrictions on when you can play, depending on the course and the coupons do expire at the end of the year.
If you were to play once a week and the average green fee costs you $30-dollars, you'd save $120 dollars a month.
