Save With Dave: European Accomodations
You can save hundreds of dollars on a European getaway.
You could call it "old school" savings.
You get a clean place to stay, more security than you could ask for, and the best part? You get all this for as little as $50 a night.
"The accommodations are pretty top notch," said Matthew Kennedy.
Several schools throughout Europe like Ireland's Dublin City University open their dorms to tourists during the summer. But that doesn't mean you have to live like a college kid.
What more do you need when you're traveling? A nice comfy bed: check!
Your own private bathroom with a hot shower: check!
And even a place to do your laundry.
And another thing, these college digs aren't stuck on the outskirts of town like this London converted Victorian mansion where some London school of economics students stay. It's smack dab in downtown.
"The location is perfect -- a lot of good pubs around here," said Max Edelstein, New York student in London.
And not just pubs. A bunch of museums and historical stuff are also nearby. And college kids know what they're talking about.
"Staying at the hotels in Europe I know from experience they are a rip-off and this would be something that's definitely feasible in anyone's budget,'' said Hudson Bova, New York student in Dublin.
An average hotel near downtown London will cost you about $250. By choosing to stay in university housing this summer, you could save $200!
