Places To Take Your Family During Bad Air Days

Are your children complaining about being cooped up inside while the valley is blanketed with a smoky haze? Health officials have advised all residents with young children to be especially careful about letting them participate in outdoor activities due to the unhealthy air quality our area is experiencing. Here at CBS13, we came up with a list of places where you can take your children for a healthy, safe and affordable play experience.
Chuck E. Cheese, Citrus Heights - Pizza, indoor play structures, arcade games, entertainment - what more could you ask for? Directions: From Highway 50, take Sunrise Blvd north and turn into the shopping center on the left just past Greenback Lane. Chuck E. Cheese is on the north end of the center.
Discovery Museum Science and Space Center, North Sacramento - (916.575.3941) Come see the exciting exhibits and participate in fun activities. Cost is $5.00 adults/$4.00 13-17/$3.00 6-12/free 5 and under. Take Hwy 50 to Watt Avenue North. Continue to Auburn Blvd, turn right to 3615 Auburn Blvd.
California State Railroad Museum, Old Sacramento - What child isn't fascinated by the Choo-Choo Train? Tour the California State Railroad Museum, which is the largest interpretive railroad museum in North America. Admission: $3 adults, youths and children ages 16 and under are free. Directions: From Hwy 50 West, take the I-5 interchange going North. Exit on J Street, and follow the signs to Old Sacramento Parking. The Museum is on the corner of Second and "I" Street.
Explor it Science Center, Davis Challenge your child's mind at this fascinating science center for all age. Exhibit runs from 2-4:30 PM. $3.00 general admission; free for 3 years and under. Located at 3141 5th Street, Davis.
