30 Living Cats Taken From Home With Frozen Felines

Homeowner Elaine Parnell didn't have much to say when it was discovered that allegedly had hundreds of dead cats in her freezers cats.

She responded that she has enough problems when asked for a comment from the media. The 81-year-old returned to her South Sacramento home Monday afternoon as Animal Services tried to capture living cats that remained inside. Meanwhile, city crews began clearing the cluttered home and backyard.

Parnell has to leave the home because its been deemed a hazard.

Sacramento Animal Services will continue its investigation and determine how the estimated 300 cats died.

Parnell and her live-in son Michael could face charges additional charges. At this point, her son faces 12 misdemeanor animal neglect charges and a felony weapons charge.

Police took him into custody Saturday night after a 911 hang up call was made from the home.
