15 Cats Dead, Manteca Neighborhood Suspicious
MANTECA, Calif. (CBS13) ―
A neighborhood is on alert after more than a dozen cats have turned up dead, and neighbors think they were murdered.
People in one Manteca apartment complex say they've found 17 cats dead over the last two weeks.
Most of the felines were family pets, and all of them died of the same symptoms.
One woman CBS13 spoke to said she found her pet dead, and when she took it to the veterinarian, they said it had ingested rat poison.
Neighbors think the recent deaths are no coincidence and someone is killing the cats on purpose.
Animal Control is currently investigating, but they haven't found any conclusive evidence.
