Three vessels collided in Newark Bay on Thursday afternoon, the Coast Guard confirmed to CBS station WCBS-TV in New York, causing officials to close the surrounding portion of the bay.
The collision occurred around 3 p.m. near Port Newark and involved two dredging vessels and a 669-foot tanker, the "Orange Sun," carrying orange juice.
According to the Coast Guard, one of the dredging vessels, the 117-foot long "New York" is taking on water. The other vessel appears to be out of New Orleans.
Five of the seven people on board the "New York" were taken from the scene by another vessel.
A large dent can be seen on the bow of the tanker, along with several large black scratches along the side of the ship.
Hydraulic fluid leaked from one of the vessels into the water, but there doesn't appear to be any immediate toxic danger.
No one was injured in the collision.
