Siena Upsets Ohio State, Wins 74-72 In OT

DAYTON, Ohio (AP) ― Siena strikes again.

Ronald Moore hit a 3-pointer with 3.9 seconds left in the second overtime -- from the identical spot he made one at the end of the first OT -- as the Saints beat eighth-seeded Ohio State 74-72 on Friday night in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

Moore's two clutch shots advanced ninth-seeded Siena (27-7) into Sunday's second round where the Saints will meet Louisville, the tournament's top team. The Cardinals moved on with a 74-54 win over No. 16 seed Morehead State.

Evan Turner missed a leaner from 15 feet that would forced a third OT for the Buckeyes (22-11), who blew an 11-point lead in the second half of regulation.

Arizona 84, Utah 71

In Miami, Arizona's three stars may have been bruised -- but not beaten. And so much for that notion the Wildcats didn't belong in the NCAA tournament.

Nic Wise scored 21 of his 29 points in the second half, Budinger added 20 and the 12th-seeded Wildcats -- one of the last teams into the field of 65 -- knocked off fifth-seeded Utah 84-71 Friday night in the first round of the Midwest Regional.

Wisconsin 61, Florida State 59

In Boise, Idaho, Trevon Hughes banked in a spinning shot over two defenders for a three-point play with 2 seconds left in overtime to lift Wisconsin to a 61-59 upset over Florida State in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

Hughes, who had his hands full covering Seminoles star Toney Douglas all game, then capped Friday night's game by batting away Florida State's desperation pass at the end and the Badgers (20-12) mobbed him at halfcourt to celebrate the victory.

Michigan State 77, Robert Morris 62

In Minneapolis, Raymar Morgan scored 16 points and Goran Suton had 11 points and 17 rebounds as Michigan State bullied 15th-seeded Robert Morris in a 77-62 victory in the first round of the Midwest Regional on Friday night.

Draymond Green added 16 points for the second-seeded Spartans (27-6), who were spotty during the Big Ten season thanks to Morgan's walking pneumonia and Suton's gimpy knees. They both looked fine on Friday night against the overmatched Colonials and the Spartans regained the form that led to convincing victories over Kansas, Oklahoma State and Texas earlier in the year.

USC 72, Boston College 55

In Minneapolis, Taj Gibson was a perfect 10 for the Trojans, and way out of Boston College's league.

Gibson had 24 points on 10-for-10 shooting from the field, sending the 10th-seeded Trojans to a 72-55 victory over Boston College in the first round of the NCAA tournament Friday night.

Adding six rebounds, five assists and three blocks, Gibson epitomized USC's fast-breaking, take-it-to-the-hoop, athletic style.
