Mom's World: Folsom Bike Park
SACRAMENTO (CBS13/CW31) ―
Did your child get a new mountain bike for Christmas? Are you looking for a fun, outdoor activity for your kids? How about heading to Cummings Family Park off of Creekside Drive in Folsom. There, you will find a newly redesigned bike park right next to the skate park. All skill levels are welcome and the cost is two dollars per person.
This was once pushed as a "BMX" park, but the City of Folsom changed that and now it wants all riders, even those just getting the hang of riding a mountain bike, to try it out.
I was impressed with how polite the veteran riders were to the younger kids. And those expert riders grabbed the attention of all who watched including this not so savy BMXer. They were going off jumps and cruising through the rollers like they were nothing.
Bike Park Manager George Stephenson will be starting classes in March and April for kids wanting to learn how get better at riding. He should know since he's competed on a world level in the sport of mountain biking
You can get more info from Folsom Park and Recreation Department. We have set up a link on our website.
