(9/17/07) Soccer For Charity, Dealing With Loss

GOAL!!!! We were scoring goals for Make A Wish. It's called, "Goals4Kids." This is a great idea from a father/coach of the Folsom Soccer Club. Rick Holtzen has challenged all soccer teams to donate a quarter when someone scores a goal. He has designed a label which is placed around an empty coffee container. It's passed around at the games when someone scores a goal parents chip in a quarter. So far, 40 teams in Folsom are taking part and they are hoping teams across Northern California will join in the program. You can go to goals4kids@hotmail.com for more information. And we have a link on our website with all the info!! GOAL!!!!

Dealing with the loss of a loved one is such a difficult process and sometimes explaining it to children can be tough. This is why I love the book, "I See You." Nicole McCormack (Hartz) wrote this book. She is a mother of three from Cool. Her brother passed away about eight years ago, and she had a tough time explaining it to her children. So she wrote this book. The pages are colorful and the book can be personalized. There are flaps that open with hidden words and kids can have hands-on experience through the grieving process. You can get this book at www.soothinghartz.com.
