Woodland Dentist Sentenced To 6 Years In Prison

STOCKTON (CBS13/AP) ― A Woodland dentist who was convicted of sexually molesting female patients has been sentenced to prison.

Mark Anderson was sentenced by judge to 6 years in prison today. He was convicted last month on 11 felony and one misdemeanor charge of sexual battery.

The judge, Stephen Mock, referred to Anderson as a "serial sex offender."

Dr. Anderson made a tearful statement at his sentencing saying he was sorry he caused the women pain but that they misunderstood his motive.  He says he was trying to help them.  He also talked about his belief in god and asked the judge for mercy.

However, five of his victims also spoke at the sentencing hearing saying they want Anderson to admit his crimes were intentional.  Anderson's attorney says his client massaged the womens' chests to treat a medical condition.
