Interstate 5 Reopens After Fatal Truck Crash

WESTLEY (CBS13) ― Southbound Interstate 5 in Stanislaus County reopened this morning following a deadly truck accident overnight. 

The accident involving three big rigs happened near the town of Westley at Ingram Creek Road.
 
The CHP says a truck slammed into the back of another truck that had stalled or stopped in the slow lane.  The driver of the second truck died.  A third truck then slammed into the two other trucks.

One of the trucks was carrying hot dog and hamburgers buns much of which spilled onto the roadway. 

Investigators closed the southbound lanes for several hours while they investigated the accident.

A bypass has been set up.
