Overturned Big Rig Creates Traffic Mess On I-80

VACAVILLE (CBS13) ― Interstate 80 in Vacaville is backed up for miles after a big rig overturned this morning seriously injuring at least one person and scattering metal all over the lanes.

Just after 7:00 this morning, a car and a big rig collided in Vacaville at Alamo in the eastbound direction.
 
Eastbound traffic is backed as crews slowly clean up the heavy metal plates spilled on the roadway.

There is at least one serious injury.  The eastbound lanes were shutdown earlier as a lifeflight helicopter landed to pick up a victim.

Crews hope to have the lanes cleared by 11:00am.
