Two Inmates Escape From Vacaville Prison Complex
VACAVILLE (CBS13) ―
Two inmates have escaped from a Vacaville prison support facility, according to authorities. The absence of two men, Juan F. Lopez, 28, and Gonzalo Ortega, 33, was discovered late Saturday night by staff at the California Medical Facility.
Lopez is described as a Hispanic male, 5'8" tall, and weighing approximately 150 pounds. Ortega is described as a Hispanic male, 5'5" tall, weighing about 130 pounds. Officials have not released details on how the two men escaped from prison.
The two men are serving time for drug-related charges, and Lopez is also serving time for a firearms-related offense. Both inmates were considered minimum security prisoners.
The facility will remain locked down until authorities complete their investigation of the escape.
