D.A.: No Charges For UC Davis Student Protesters

More Local News
DAVIS (AP) ― Criminal charges will not be filed against dozens of people arrested on suspicion of trespassing during protests over fee hikes at the University of California, Davis.
Yolo County District Attorney Jeff Reisig said Friday after discussions with the school's chancellor and police chief, he decided not to file charges against 51 demonstrators. The case of one person accused of assaulting a police officer is still under review.
Authorities say the 51 demonstrators -- most of them students -- were arrested Nov. 19 after they refused to leave an administration building on campus for several hours following its closure.
Reisig noted that university officials did not report any property damage, violence or resistance.
