Air Force ID's Travis Airman Who Died Unexpectedly

  Air Force officials have released the identity of an active duty airman from Travis Air Force Base who died unexpectedly on Monday.

Senior Airman Matthew Johnston, 21, was found dead just past midnight Tuesday in his Vacaville residence.

Johnston joined the Air Force in 2006, and was a firefighter with the 60th Civil Engineer Squadron.

Officials said the Air Force Office of Special Investigations is working with the Vacaville Police Department to determine how he died. No other details about the circumstances of his death were given.

The base is located about 50 miles northeast of San Francisco, and is home to 5,800 active-duty personnel.
