Man Shot At Tracy Bar Dies
TRACY, Calif. (CBS13) ―
One of the seven people shot at a Tracy restaurant and bar over the weekend has died.
Tracy police say 41-year-old Naim Bey of Tracy died early this morning at San Joaquin County General Hospital. Bey was a married father of two, accordint to police.
Tracy Police Chief Janet Thiessen stated, "This was a senseless, irresponsible and cowardly act that has forever altered the lives of Mr. Bey's family. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to his family and to his friends. We hope the capture of the responsible individuals in some way eases their suffering."
Three people have been arrested in connection with the shooting.
According to the Tracy Police Department, several people were ejected from Amore's Restaurant on West 11th Street just after 1:00 a.m. Saturday morning after a fight broke out in the bar. Witnesses told police that someone began firing shots back through the entrance, striking seven people, one woman and six men.
Three people were arrested by police several hours after the shooting. Elvis Mendoza, 28; Johnny Martinez, 24; and Michael Mau, 24, were arrested for attempted murder.
All three are also being charged with participation in a criminal street gang.
The six other people shot were treated for non-life threating injuries.
