Big Rig Crosses Median, Hits Cars On I-5
STOCKTON (CBS13) ―
Emergency crews are working on a serious accident on Interstate 5 in Stockton where a big rig crossed the median and hit at least two cars, according to CHP.
The crash is on Interstate 5 at the Crosstown Freeway. The big rig was traveling in the southbound lanes and crossed into the northbound lanes. At one point, only one lane in each direction was open, but the northbound direction has since been cleared.
CHP says there are minor injuries. The big rig is on its side and a big rig tow has been called. Debris is also on the roadway. It's unclear how long it will take to clear the crash.
Traffic is backed up on southbound Interstate 5 for several miles. Motorists are being urged to avoid the area or use alternate routes.
