Station Casinos Files For Bankruptcy
LAS VEGAS (AP) ―
Station Casinos Inc. says it's voluntarily seeking Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
Tuesday's federal bankruptcy filing comes after months of negotiations between the Las Vegas-based casino operator and its bondholders.
None of its casino-operating subsidies or affiliates is included in the filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Reno, Nev., the company said.
It says operations will continue.
The 33-year-old company has struggled to pay down debt since becoming private in 2007. A decline in tourism after years of booming profits for the industry has compounded its challenges.
Station Casinos owns and manages 18 casinos and resorts, primarily in Nevada and in California.
