Three Alarm Fire Engulfs South Sac Warehouse

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ― Black smoke rose high above Sacramento when a wind-driven fire destroyed a warehouse in south Sacramento Monday afternoon. At one point, the fire spread east of the warehouse and started a small grass fire.

The warehouse, owned by the Pacific Corrugated Pipe Company, was seriously damaged by the three-alarm blaze, which started just after 5:30 p.m., according to fire officials.

The Sacramento Fire Department is concerned that a rail tanker car with dangerous chemicals may have been breached by the heat of the fire. Arson investigators are trying to determine the cause of the blaze.
