Teacher Accused Of Molesting Boy For Two Years
NAPA (AP) ―
A Sonoma County teacher faces charges that he molested the son of family friends over two years.
Thirty-five-year-old Josefat Estrada Jr. has taught math at Vintage High School since 2005. Authorities say the alleged victim, now 18, doesn't attend Vintage.
Estrada was arraigned Tuesday on 10 molestation-related counts.
Authorities say the sexual encounters began in 2005, when the boy was 14, and lasted until 2007. Sonoma County Sheriff's Sgt. Glenn Lawrence says a family member reported the alleged crimes in late June.
The school has placed Estrada on unpaid administrative leave.
Estrada is being held in the Sonoma County jail on $250,000 bail. He's due in court again next Monday to enter a plea.
