Two Women Fatally Shot In El Dorado County

PLEASANT VALLEY (CBS13) ― Two women are dead following a shooting at a house on Leisure Lane near Placerville and another woman is behind bars.

Pleasant Valley resident Dana Dodd was arrested last night after sheriff's deputies found two women shot to death at Dodd's home.

Sergeant Phil Shovanec told CBS13 that dispatch received a 911 call around 5 p.m. last night concerning a shooting that had taken place at a single family residence.

Officers responded to the call and found one woman shot inside the residence and the other shot outdoors.  It was confirmed that one of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victims are said to be adult women, but their ages have yet to be confirmed.

Authorities say it is unknown why the women were at the residence.

Deputies say they were called to the same home just last week to handle a domestic dispute situation.

The motive for the shootings is unknown.
