Volunteers Warning Residents About Serial Stabber

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ― Members of the community are taking to the streets of Sacramento to find a serial stabber that is believed to have attacked at least four people. Volunteers from the group Guardian Angels are canvassing the area around Del Paso Boulevard to raise awareness of the attacker, hoping to find the suspect before he strikes again.

"He struck some fear in the community, but we're here to strengthen it and make it a strong community," said one of the volunteers.

Police have released a composite sketch of the suspect, whom they believe is randomly stabbing people without provocation on Del Paso Boulevard while on his bicycle. He then rides away without a word.

The attacks may date back to 2006. A churchgoer, 69-year old Robert Wright, was walking home from choir practice that year when he was stabbed under similar circumstances.

Wright died earlier this year from complications resulting from his injuries.

The Guardian Angels are going from business to business and stopping anyone on the street who will listen. "It could happen to anybody so you have to be careful," said Rocky, one of the volunteers.
