Sea Lion Shot In Head Turns Up By Pier 39 In S.F.
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS13) ―
A wounded sea lion that was spotted wandering around in Old Sacramento two weeks ago was spotted Tuesday near Pier 39 in San Francisco.
The animal, which is suffering a gunshot wound to his head, was seen yesterday, according to the Marine Mammal Center. He could be on the pier, but due to the large number of sea lions, searchers weren't able to make a positive identification.
The sea lion was discovered lounging around on a dock behind Joe's Crab Shack on November 11. When police arrived at the scene, it swam off in the Sacramento River.
This is not the first time a wounded sea lion has turned up in Old Sacramento. In August, an injured sea lion was spotted hanging around the Tower Bridge.
