Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is scheduled to speak on the first night of the Republican National Convention, that is if state lawmakers pass a budget in time.
The announcement about the high-profile speaking engagement came the day after Schwarzenegger told state Democrats to cancel their travel plans this election year.
The Republican governor says it's extremely important the leaders not leave town for next week's Democratic National Convention in Denver or the Republican National Convention the following week in St. Paul, Minnesota.
The Governor is scheduled to speak on September first, the first night of the convention, along with President George W. Bush and Vice President Cheney on a theme of 'Service'. But the Governor's office said he will cancel if their is no budget in place by then.
