A dairy worker who found the suitcase containing the body of a missing eight-year-old girl in Tracy will be getting a reward for his discovery.
Jose Luis Franco was working at a dairy north of Tracy on April 8 when he noticed the luggage in an irrigation pond.
Inside authorities found the body of Sandra Cantu, who had been missing since March 27. Her disappearance from a nearby mobile home park has sparked a massive search by hundreds of volunteers.
This morning, the head of the Sund/Carrington Foundation will present a check for just over $20,000 to Franco.
Franco says he'll set the money aside for the education of his four children.
The Sund/Carrington Foundation rewards tips that help find missing persons or lead to the arrest of violent criminals.
