Missing Evidence Angers Sac County Officials

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ― A big blunder in a Sacramento County court case, $3,000 in alleged drug money missing.

Last October, Grant School Police busted a suspect for meth and seized $3,000.

The case went to trial last week, and when the sealed envelope of seized evidence was opened up in court, the money was missing. In the place of the money were pieces of paper the same size as the cash.

The D.A.'s Office as well as Sacramento County Sheriff and the Grant School Police Department have now launched an investigation to track down the cash.
