Sketch Released In Placer Attempted Kidnappings
ROSEVILLE (CBS13) ―
Police believe two attempted kidnappings in Placer County could be related and are searching for a man driving a maroon Dodge Durango.
The first attempt was last Sunday in Lincoln. Police say a suspect driving a red Dodge Durango tried to kidnap a 19-year-old woman at a the Raley's gas station.
Then on Tuesday in Roseville, a man with a similar description allegedly tried to kidnap a woman while she was inside her car at the Renaissance Creek shopping center.
The 29-year-old woman was reportedly sitting in her vehicle when an unknown male entered through the back door and grabbed her around the neck in an attempt to subdue her. The woman then began to honk her horn as she opened her driver's door and escaped.
Authorities say that the suspect took the woman's purse before fleeing in his maroon Dodge Durango.
The suspect is described to be a white male in his early thirties, about six feet tall, and 220 pounds. He has a mustache and goatee, with short blond hair in a buzz cut.
Detectives from both agencies are currently investigating the crimes and urge anyone who may have seen the above-described suspect or vehicle, or who has any other information about this incident is asked to call the Roseville Police Department at (916) 774-5000.
