Rocklin Officer Shoots Teen In Foot During Arrest
ROCKLIN (CBS13) ―
A teenage suspect is recovering in jail after being shot in the foot by a Rocklin police officer who was attempting to arrest the teen.
The Rocklin Police Department says they got a call regarding a burglar alarm at the Big Kmart Store on Pacific Street just after midnight.
When officers arrived, they found a door propped open. Officers went inside and searched the building. That's when they found 18-year-old Cody McKie. According to police, McKie was shot in the foot as officers confronted McKie and attempted to arrest him.
McKie was taken to Sutter Roseville Medical Center for treatment. He was released and later booked at the PLacer County Jail for burglary, conspiracy and possession of a hypodermic needle.
The officers involved in the shooting are now on routine administrative leave while the burglary and shooting are investigated.
