River Cats Capture Second Consecutive Title
OAKLAHOMA CITY (CBS13) ―
The Sacramento River Cats took out the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees 4-1 in an Oklahoma City ballpark to win their second consecutive Triple-A championship. It's the fourth title the River Cats have won in the past six seasons.
The River Cats scored early in the AT&T Bricktown Ballpark when they racked up a 3-0 lead in the first inning, scoring later in the 6th and giving up a single run in the 7th on an RBI single by the Yankees.
Pitcher Chris Gissell was awarded the Bobby Murcer MVP Award after the game, having thrown 3 shutout innings and striking out four batters.
